We got a super-secret note from an inside source (AKA a press release) from The Vanilla Workshop that CX has something a bit new for them in store.

This year while fabricating their team CX race bikes, they're allowing you, average dude from wherever, to hitch your wagon to that train.  The Vanilla Workshop has come up with a pair of balleúr builds for you to consume.  But first, their words:

“Cyclocross is in our blood. It should be no surprise that The Vanilla Workshop started with a cross bike and nearly two decades later, with victories at National Championships, more State Championships than we can count and wins around the world, it’s our favorite of all disciplines.”

This year we're doing something special: opening up our limited run of team bikes to our customers.

Pre-order is open for two weeks (July 18th-Aug 1st). Once the window is closed, we're going to move into production and get your bike to you in time for Cyclocross season! 

Every Speedvagen race machine is hand built in our workshop and is meant to be ridden. Hard. We're constantly asking ourselves "How can we remove any sense of preciousness? What's going to make these bikes get used to their fullest?"

The result is two complete Speedvagen Team Issue Cyclocross machines: CX-R and CX-X, fully built, ready to race and starting at $5995.

As with our other Ready Made bikes, these Team Issue versions are the distillation of everything that makes a Speedvagen a Speedvagen, without compromising on performance or standard features.

We're doing the CX-X build as a 1x with a mix of DuraAce and XTR. We like to slice and dice our component combinations if there's more performance to be had and in this case, the following combination is the best of the best.
